Spring Creek Vintners Ltd. is a 12,000 tonne family owned-winery located in Spring Creek Marlborough. With a state-of-the-art winery, world class vineyards and a large contract grower supply base, we produce premium wines for some of New Zealand's leading winemakers, as well as our own award-winning Rapaura Springs and Summerhouse brands. Joining our winemaking team offers the opportunity to work with some of Marlborough's best wine industry professionals and gain exposure to a broad range of techniques and practices in viticulture and winemaking. We currently have vacancies for the following positions in our winery cellar team:

SENIOR CELLAR HANDS (Cellar or Lab based) Hourly Rate: $29.50 - $32.50 depending on experience.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities/Experience:

  • You need to be able to lead, train and supervise a small team of people.

  • This position requires a minimum of 2-3 vintages experience (no formal qualifications required, but at least 4 months in a similar role).

  • Perform routine tasks in the cellar and operate winery machinery.

  • Have effective communication skills and be familiar with cellar operations.

  • Ability to work 12 hours per day, 6 days per week (weekends included). Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed with a maximum of 72 hours per week during peak.

  • You will make health and safety a priority and ensure all tasks are completed to a high-standard and efficiency is maintained.

CELLAR HANDS (Cellar or Lab-based) Hourly Rate: $25.50 - $27.50 depending on experience.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities/Experience:

  • Previous winery experience would be an advantage, but not essential.

  • Cellar Hands will perform tasks such as cleaning, grape receival processing, clarification, red and white ferment management, additions, barrel work and more.

  • Lab-based Cellar Hands will be conducting routine analysis on juice & wine samples as well as data entry, industry experience is preferred.

  • Have effective communication skills.

  • Ability to work 12 hours per day, 6 days per week (weekends included). Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed with a maximum of 72 hours per week during peak.

  • You will make health and safety a priority and ensure all tasks are completed to a high-standard and efficiency is maintained.
