We are advertising an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic and talented Assistant Vineyard Manager to support our Martinborough Vineyards Manager, overseeing our Martinborough vineyards.
This role will oversee our established 230-hectare vineyard on Te Muna Road which is comprised of intensively managed, high-density, super-premium sites with cool climate varieties of Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate management experience in all aspects of vineyard operations, including viticulture, staff, finances, health and safety and compliance. A tertiary qualification in viticulture is preferred along with experience in contract labour management, machinery operations and irrigation management.
Attributes required for success in this position include:
- Strong discipline in planning and organisational skills
- High level of presentation and communication
- Experience operating general vineyard machinery
- Irrigation knowledge encompassing field work and irrigation scheduling, would be desirable.
This hands-on role would suit an experienced manager who enjoys getting involved in multiple facets of a vineyard, demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation and relishes continuous improvement
