Nga Waka is a renowned, family-owned winery, that has been producing premium wines from sustainably grown grapes in Martinborough for 30 years. We are looking for a new person to join the Nga Waka team as a Vineyard Worker/Machinery Operator. In this full-time position you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our vineyard machinery, as well as assisting with general vineyard work. The roll is based at our vineyards located around the township of Martinborough.
Knowledge of farm machinery and an understanding of vineyard or horticultural operations would be beneficial, as would mechanical aptitude, enthusiasm, and the desire to continually learn. Ideally, you will also have a full, clean driver’s license, the ability to work flexible hours to suit seasonal demands, and a commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
General tasks include:
- Vineyard operations including, mowing, spraying, cultivation, trimming, leaf plucking, netting and harvesting
- Maintenance of vineyard machinery and equipment
- General vineyard work including, trellising, irrigation, pruning, thinning, training, picking etc
The starting date is flexible, renumeration will reflect skills and experience.
