At Escarpment, we have created an expression of New Zealand Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris which has evolved over 35 years of dedication to these varieties. Situated just minutes east of Martinborough village, Escarpment’s 24 hectares of distinctive alluvial gravel, terraced land stretches out along the banks of the Huangarua River on Te Muna Road.
Our wines are sculpted from fruit entirely originating from Martinborough vineyards. We are interested in the structure, complexity, and fruit expression of our wines and how they are pronounced from single sites.
In July 2019 Torbreck Vintners from the Barossa Valley acquired Escarpment. Along with gaining great relationships and knowledge from the team at Torbreck, this partnership has allowed Escarpment to complete our long-term aspirations of building a state-of-the-art winery. The new 880m2 build is now the heart of our operations with the 2022 vintage being the first vintage in the new winery. It is fully insulated, gravity fed to the existing underground barrel room and equipped with modern winemaking technology.
Escarpment Winery Martinborough is offering the opportunity to join our vineyard team. We are an innovative, forward-thinking team working closely to produce premium quality wine.
If you enjoy working outdoors, are a team player, have a positive attitude, and most importantly have an interest in viticulture, we are keen to talk to you. Experience is welcome but not necessary as training will include tractor and implement work, canopy management, weed control, pruning, foliage spraying, bird netting application and harvest.
Position is fulltime, based in Martinborough and will be reporting directly to the Site Manager/ Viticulturist.
