Auckland’s newest 126-bedroom Hotel, inspired by art deco fused with contemporary comfort for the ultimate urban escape, SOHO is located in Mount Roskill and is just 15 minutes from the CBD.
SOHO offers extensive dining with Tiger Bar and Restaurant which has a luxe setting with an Asian-fusion flavour, which can cater for 80 guests, SOHO Café which is the perfect spot to escape the hustle/bustle with views across to the Auckland city skyline, and spacious conferencing and events facilities which can host up to 300 delegates, as well as a premium day spa and rooftop bar.
We have an opportunity for a Food and Beverage Manager to join the team and be a key part in the opening of this brand-new Hotel. The role will be focused on the daily operations of the front office department and guest services, being a leader of the front office team.
As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage department, including restaurant, rooftop bar, and room service operations. It will be essential that you create a memorable dining experience for our guests by maintaining high standards of service, quality that capstone hotels are know for.
Responsibilities
- Outstanding leadership skills, previous experience managing a team, recruiting, rostering, training and supervising staff along with HR experience in all aspects.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging personal growth and development.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and update innovative and seasonal menus that cater to diverse guest preferences.
- Manage food and beverage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimize profitability.
- Ensure that monthly financials for F&B are on target and accurate, reporting directly to the Hotel Manager.
- Develop and implement effective operational policies and procedures to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Maximising yield and revenue through innovative sales practices.
- Excellent, high quality customer service, ensuring positive guest experiences.
- Handling complaints and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
- Ensure exceptionally high and consistent standards are met with in the department.
- To hold regular briefings and meetings with the team.
- Understanding of current Health & Safety obligations, ensuring the Hotel is fully compliant to the SOP's, Policies, procedures and service standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, manage budgets, and achieve financial targets.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Solid understanding of industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive market dynamics.
