BAR / EVENT MANAGER (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Do you love creating, bar tending, and enjoy running events?

In just over four years, NDC has won best gin in New Zealand twice, Best New Zealand Rum, finalists for top New Zealand Vodka, top 100 spirits in the world, and our international medals and awards are too many to put down on paper. We may just be the most awarded distillery New Zealand has ever had, and we’ve only just started. 

The National Distillery Company is about to open a world class small boutique hospitality/tourism mecca, and we’re looking for the perfect person to join our very tight NDC family.

We’re on a huge global ADVENTURE, and with this role, the sky is literally the limit. 

Our group has been in high level hospitality for over a decade, so we know what we’re doing, and we’re here to help and support all staff.

Responsibilities

-Beverage menu creation

-Work closely with Kitchen Manager 

-Effectively manage FOH staff

-Distillery door (tasting/sales)

-Manage onsite events

-Manage offsite events 

-Training

-Help set forecasts/budgets 

-Manage COGS

-Manage FOH wage costs

-Weekly/monthly/yearly reporting 

-Travel to events, festivals, parties, international travel 

-Foraging

Qualifications

-Managers Certificate

-Extensive cocktail experience (2 years minimum)

-Solid New Zealand wine knowledge, passion for wine 

-NZ craft beer knowledge, passion for beer 

-Proven experience in a senior bartending role, or bar manger position 

-Proven experience in Event management 

-A hunger for world class customer service 

-Desire to be a valuable member of a great family/friend work environment
