Tohu Wines is the world's first Maori-owned and operated wine label. Since 1998, Tohu has focused on creating internationally-acclaimed wines from premium sites located across the top of the South Island. The Tohu winemaking philosophy is to create wines that capture the flavours of each vineyard’s unique environment, while upholding respect and protection of the land for future generations.
Based out of our modern winery in Marlborough’s beautiful Awatere Valley, we produce a range of award-winning, cool-climate wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Méthode Traditionnelle, and Pinot Noir.
We are looking for dedicated and hardworking Vintage Cellar Hands to join our small winery team for approximately 8 weeks from late February 2025 to the beginning of May 2025.
Previous winery experience with a minimum of one vintage experience would be an advantage, but not essential as all training will be provided. Applicants must be physically fit and able to work long hours, as during the peak of vintage you'll be required to work 12-hour shifts, 6 to 7 days a week. To be considered for this position you must also have strong attention to detail, excellent English, and ideally have a passion for wine and winemaking.
If successful, you’ll enjoy working with fruit from great vineyards from across Marlborough and Nelson and will be involved in many, maybe all, aspects of the winemaking process. As part of your package we will help with finding accommodation, provide meals during your shift, and provide transport to and from the winery. You’ll be part of a small and dedicated team in the winery, so a hands-on approach and a positive attitude is essential.
To apply, please send your cover letter and current C.V. with contact details for two referees via the link provided.
