Omata Estate Vineyard & Kitchen in Russell, is looking for a driven, customer focused assistant manager.
We love sharing our wine, location and food with locals and visitors to the area.
The ideal person isn’t afraid of hard work, has a great sense of humour and enjoys working apart of and leading a small team.
Things that will be helpful for this role:
- Practical & hardworking
- Confident dealing with people of all ages
- Leads by example
- Hospitality experience
- Some form of management experience
- Managers license (or willing to get)
- Not afraid from time to time to get out in the vineyard e.g. grape picking
- Creating relationships with the local community
- A wine & food enthusiast
The role will be varied but the main aim is to have someone to help run the cellar door and eatery for the summer period. You will be reporting and working directly with the manager.
Some key tasks may include:
- Assistance in recruiting a team of summer staff
- Staff supervising and rostering
- Staff training
- Deliver and promote outstanding customer service
- Daily supplier ordering & reporting
- Opening and closing procedures
- Taking bookings and monitoring emails
- Helping with wholesale orders
- Event management
- Administration office work assistance
About Omata Estate Vineyard & Kitchen
Small boutique vineyard that grows great wines! We have a relaxed rustic style eatery that overlooks the ocean/vines and a cellar door room for wine tastings and sales. We have a simple menu serving gourmet local produce platters and wood fired pizzas.
We are open 7 days a week from October to May. Only one evening a week in January and February and the odd evening for private functions/weddings.
- We have an amazing view to sit on beanbags after work with a wine!
- Remuneration will be reflective of experience.
- On site shared accommodation could be provided for the right applicant.
- This could be a year round role for the right candidate.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
