Omata Estate Vineyard is a small easy going family run business looking for a new vineyard worker/viticulturist to help produce beautiful wines in an amazing part of the country.
We are looking for a reliable, self-starter vineyard all rounder!! This position would ideally suit someone with previous experience involving viticulture or farming operations. The right applicant could of had experience in agriculture of some form; viticulture, fencing, cropping, forestry, farming, horticulture etc. Previous vineyard work is not essential if you are a mechanical, practical person with an agricultural background.
The key responsibilities of the role would include:
- Vineyard operations (pruning, harvesting, spray applications, irrigation operations, hands on vineyard maintenance)
- Tractor and machinery operations
- Managing vineyard tasks and other staff who are assisting if required
- Other jobs: general property maintenance, firewood, managing vehicle/machinery servicing and maintenance etc
The ideal person loves the outdoors, is physically fit to perform tasks, enjoys working solo or with others and values working apart of a small fun team.
Common sense and practical skills are must haves.
