Food and Beverage Assistant Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Overseeing daily operations of Eichardt's Bar, the ideal applicant will have the desired skills and experience to successfully manage the day to day duties and responsibilities of this busy and rewarding role, including:

• Delivering five-star guest service and leading the food & beverage teams to deliver exemplary guest service and experience standards at all times, while maximizing profit without compromising quality
• Manage internal and external relationships with Imperium teams and suppliers
• Managing drinks lists including cocktail list creation and planning
• Function setup and co-ordination including guest communication and planning, ensure functions and events are executed to perfection  
• Working with Executive chef on food menu planning including costing and working to budget
• Cash and credit card handling, till cash ups, change ordering and banking
• Stock ordering, control and management including ensuring correct stock levels and scheduling deliveries
• Monthly stocktakes and periodic reporting
• Promptly and professionally responding to emails, phone calls and enquiries
• Overseeing all aspects of food & beverage areas ensuring they are compliant with all OHS requirements and safety standards
• Managing food and beverage teams rosters and ensure adequate staffing within budget
• Successful recruitment, selection, training and leadership of the food & beverage teams
• Various admin tasks and projects as necessary
• Managing daily restaurant reservations
• Cocktail making, coffee making, wine service and training and coaching food and beverage teams to maintain five-star standards
• Opening and closing the bars and restaurants

The ideal applicant will have:

• The confidence to show us your exceptional abilities within food and beverage department
• A current Duty Managers certificate
• Experience of New Zealand beers, wines and spirits as well as local food and ingredients
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role and environment
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Energy, a guest focus and the ability to think outside of the box
• Immaculate presentation and grooming
• Flexibility in available hours, covering late nights and early mornings as required
• A high level of technical skills and knowledge involved in all food & beverage operations
• Verbal and written communication effective and professional with colleagues, guests and all external parties
• Punctuality and maintains time management
• Conscious effort to create a positive work environment and culture
• Shows initiative and problem solving skills when an opportunity arises
• Manages stressful situations calmly, maintaining a professional composure at all times
• Attention to detail and the quality of work produced, ensuring excellence and seeks ways to improve outputs
