The Company
Our client is a significant player in the New Zealand and global beverage sectors and has made a name for themselves in the general beverage market as well as boutique beer brewing. They have a site in South Auckland and great opportunities for a Brewing Operator and a Blending Operator to enter or advance their career in the alcoholic beverages industry.
The Opportunity
These clients currently seek a Brewing Operator and a Blending Process Operator to join their beverage team.
Reporting to the Blending Co-ordinator the Blending Process Operator position will encompass all aspects of beverage manufacturing from ingredient and powder handling, syrup production, milk and cream-based liqueurs, spirit, wine and cider filtration and blending.
Reporting to the Brewing Coordinator the Brewing Operator role looks after all aspects of craft beer manufacture from malt handling and wort production to fermentation and beer filtration. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn the process and the company will support you in gaining additional brewing qualifications.
Please note, you must be available to work on a rotating shift as the processing plant runs 24 hours, Monday to Friday. These are hands-on roles so you must be happy to work in that environment including some lifting of 20kg.
Requirements
Previous FMCG experience and or a previous experience in the wine/beer/beverage manufacturing industry is preferred. You will also be someone who really wants a career in the brewing/beverage industry and is committed to the long term. The blending role is the perfect opportunity for a chef, experienced kitchen hand, cellar hand, baker, smart process worker or university graduate looking to enter the beverages industry. While the brewing role would suit someone with a food science or brewing degree, preferably with experience or exposure to brewing, or even someone with several years experience in the industry.
Applicants should have the following attributes, qualifications and experience:
- Biology/technology/brewing based tertiary qualification or similar
- Experience the food or beverage production sector preferred
- Able to work as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexible in terms of time commitments
- Interested in further education related to the brewing industry
- Ability to positively influence your peers
- Be physically fit, able to work in a hands-on capacity
- Have NZ residency or citizenship OR a working visa with at least 2 years left on it
