We have recently changed our name from Akarua Wines & Kitchen by Artisan to Mora Wines & Artisan Kitchen. This was a result of the sale in October of the Akarua brand to Edmond de Rothschild Heritage Wines. The Skeggs family has subsequently launched a new brand called Mora (Latin) for to pause or to linger. This brand encompasses a wide range of premium Central Otago varietals which will be sold through our restaurant and cellar door just outside of Arrowtown.
Mora Wines & Artisan Kitchen is still jointly owned and operated by Debbie and John Pickens (Artisan Catering), with the same incredible team.
Our cellar door and restaurant is one of the most popular destinations in Central Otago and our vision remains the same – to provide a signature cellar door experience that is on the “must do” list for all visitors to our region.
The Opportunity
To support the growth of the cellar door and our focus on providing an exceptional tasting journey, we are seeking applications for the position of a superstar Cellar Door Host to join our dynamic team.
Candidates should ideally have a proven background in a customer interfacing role, have strong communication/presentation and relationship skills, commercial acumen, enthusiasm, creativity and be a willing team member.
The appointed candidate will be based at the cellar door just outside Arrowtown.
Reporting to the Direct Sales Manager the Cellar Door Host will possess the following key attributes:
- An interest/passion for the wine industry
- WSET or relevant wine qualifications an advantage
- Manager’s Certificate an advantage
- Hospitality experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Outstanding communication and relationship skills
- Motivated by meeting challenging sales targets and energised by the rewards of closing a sale
- A team player who enjoys solving problems and is solution oriented
