Our team is passionate about wine and delivering a world class guest experience for diners, visitors, wine tours and in-house guests at Kinross. They love sharing the stories of our wine range and helping guests to understand, appreciate, choose and buy the wine they love.
The Sommelier role leads on and off-license wine sales in our Bistro and works closely with our team of wine advisors to be responsible for wine training, stock control, wine club sign ups, new releases, wine pairings etc in the Bistro.
You will suit this role if you have a passion for Central Otago wines, a minimum of 1 years’ experience selling wines direct to clients and a minimum of WSET 2 or equivalent. We will also consider someone moving from a proven sales career into the wine industry, with a willingness to train and learn.
You will enjoy building relationships, sales opportunities and connecting with guests , with a demonstrated ability to develop a sales pipeline and meet sales targets.
This role is Thursday to Mon (or similar), working winery hours, with no super late nights. Remuneration is an hourly rate plus sales bonuses.
