Gibbston Valley Winery is one of the regions oldest wineries located in the stunning Valley of the Vines.
We have a rare and exciting position available managing one of the country's busiest Cellar Doors. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on manager who has a real passion for fine wine, whilst being able to provide a world class visitor experience. You must be able to promote and present wines for tasting and sales both at the winery and nationally so confidence in public speaking is a must.
This role will be responsible for a wide range of activity within our busy Cellar Door, including the training and recruiting of the Cellar Door Team, budgets and forecasting, merchandising and stock control.
The ideal applicant will have the following attributes:
- Professional, outgoing, friendly and engaging
- Comfortable speaking to large groups and leading a team
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position
- A high degree of wine knowledge, WSET level 2 or equivalent
- High level of communication and computer literacy
- Proven sales record and ability to train and motivate a sales team
- High standards of customer service
- Self-motivated and highly organised
This is a permanent, full-time position.
To be eligible for this role you must have:
- Duty Managers Certificate
- Private Transportation
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand
- Availability to work public holidays and weekends
