On The Point – Lake Rotorua (formerly Peppers on the Point) sits on the shores of Lake Rotorua, nestled amongst five acres of private grounds and beautiful gardens.
Since 2004 this luxury lodge has warmly welcomed guests to enjoy the peaceful ambience of this boutique accommodation, fine dining and local attractions and experiences.
We currently have positions available in our fine dining Restaurant.
At least 1 year previous waitering experience is necessary at a high standard, including bar and tray service and wine knowledge is highly desirable. Barista skills are also a must.
What we offer:
- $25-26.00 per hour
- 30 hours per week
- Normal paid leave entitlements
Requirements of the role:
- To be an efficient part of the On The Point team by maintaining effective communication and by practising “attention to detail”. Ensuring that the lodge is always ready to welcome guests.
- Preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner set ups. Ensure correct procedures with reference to POS system, cash handling and security are adhered to.
- Work with Restaurant manager to ensure smooth running of conferences/weddings and group bookings.
- Maintain a clean working environment around the lodge, ensuring all equipment is used in the correct manner.
- Be present and attentive for service briefing each evening when rostered. Participate in departmental meetings.
- To have knowledge of New Zealand as a destination and the Rotorua area. To have knowledge of all local activities to assist guests with their questions
- To positively respond to all guests’ requests for information, ensuring special requests are channelled through to the appropriate department.
- To always maintain appropriate communication with guests, promoting the continued success of the Lodge.
- To liaise with all departments to contribute to the smooth running of the lodge and satisfaction of our guests
- Assist with taking of wine orders, upselling and service.
- Work with the Restaurant Supervisor to ensure smooth running of conferences weddings and group bookings
- Accurate Recording and charging of guest accounts, owners account, house account.
