Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant, one of New Zealand’s most awarded wine producers, is looking for a passionate and driven Cellar Operations Manager to join our close-knit winemaking team on beautiful Waiheke Island.
This is a permanent, hands-on role for someone who takes genuine pride in their craft, brings a positive attitude to the cellar and is ready to get stuck in alongside a talented and highly regarded team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working under the direction of our Consultant Winemaker and General Manager of Wine and Viticulture, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of cellar operations across the full wine year. You’ll be trusted to work independently, maintain high standards, and lead seasonal vintage staff when the busy season arrives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day cellar operations, including all vintage activities
- Accurate fermentation records and winery documentation
- High standards of winery hygiene and housekeeping
- Weekly reporting and monthly stock takes
- Supervision and coordination of seasonal cellar staff
- Vineyard support as required
- Assisting with tastings, tours and blending sessions
Requirements:
- Must hold NZ or Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- Full, current driver’s licence & forklift licence
- A qualification in Viticulture, Oenology or a related science discipline
- Have at least 3 years’ hands-on cellar experience
- Love wine and take real pride in quality
- Are self-motivated, organised and calm under pressure
- Communicate clearly and work well with others
- Are physically fit and ready for a genuinely demanding, rewarding role
