Tantalus Estate, based in Onetangi, on the picturesque Waiheke Island, just a 35-minute ferry from downtown Auckland, is seeking Servers, Bartenders and Cellar Door Assistants for our Estate Restaurant and Alibi Brewer's Lounge.

Servers
Successful Server applicants will have experience in a similar position. The pay rate for the position will be assessed on the experience and qualifications of each applicant. The wage bracket for this position is between $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours a week. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Taking customer orders in a professional and friendly manner.
- Opening wine, refreshing drinks, clearing or re-setting tables, and taking payments.
- Working a variety of shifts, including lunch, dinner, and functions.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work to a schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Presents a personable and professional demeanor with co-workers and guests.
- Completing opening and closing tasks and duties.
- Ability and willingness to contribute to a positive team environment, encouraging clear communication and fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
Bartenders
Successful Bartender applicants will have experience in a similar position. The pay rate for the position will be assessed on the experience and qualifications of each applicant. The wage bracket for this position is between $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours a week. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Completing opening and closing procedures for bar areas.
- Making cocktails, opening/pouring wines and beers through service.
- Ensuring bar procedures are consistent with company standards.
- Serving and running beverages as required.
- Restocking & assisting in stock counts.
- Reporting low stock of products to the Bar Manager or Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy bar appearance, inside and out.
- Completing regular detailed cleaning of bar equipment.
- Ability and skills to make barista quality coffees consistent with the Tantalus standards.
- Informing management immediately of any customer concerns/complaints.
- Reporting low stock of products to the Bar Manager or Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Ability and willingness to contribute to a positive team environment, encouraging clear communication and fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
Cellar Door Assistant
Successful Cellar Door Assistant applicants will have experience in a similar position. The pay rate for the position will be assessed on the experience and qualifications of each applicant. The wage bracket for this position is between $23.00 - $30.00 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours a week. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in setup and closedown of the tasting room.
- General cleaning duties
- Conducting tastings at the bench or seated at table.
- Operating point of sale and till for transactions.
- Restocking the cellar door as required.
- Assisting customers with enquiries.
- Upselling and cross-selling other areas of the business.
- Conducting group tastings.
- Conducting tours and private tastings as required
- Willingness to work towards personal sales targets and group sales targets.
- Ability and willingness to contribute to a positive team environment, encouraging clear communication and fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
