Obsidian Wines are looking to hire a permanent Vineyard Supervisor to join our small, quality-focused team on Waiheke Island.

About us

Situated in the Onetangi Valley - Obsidian wines are a small, premium vineyard, producing around 50 Tonnes of exceptional Grapes. We are a quality focused wine grower with a commitment to investing in staff and building skills, knowledge, and experience, across our entire vineyard team.

The role of Vineyard Supervisor will consist of directly working with our seasonal staff to ensure that all vineyard processes are done to the highest standard. The successful applicant will be someone with a can-do attitude and a thorough, logical mindset. You will be directly reporting to the vineyard manager.

You will ideally have:

·     Relevant Viticultural experience including:

  • Operation of tractors and Machinery
  • Supervision of casual vineyard staff
  • A good understanding and practical knowledge of general vineyard operation
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • A commitment to health and safety policies and procedures
  • The ability to, and a positive attitude towards learning
  • A full driver's licence
  • The ability to communicate with and lead groups of people 

Candidates must be able to legally work full-time in New Zealand.
