The team behind The Stoaker Room, Cromwell’s highly successful bistro and home of Wild Earth Wines, are opening a new Restaurant & bringing their distinctive cooking style to Wanaka in time for summer! 

Opening in a revamped Florence’s Café on Cardrona Valley Road, The Stoaker Room Wanaka will be serving up all the favourites from our Signature dish “The Stoaker Banquet” to the very popular “Butchers Boards” paired with our award-winning Wild Earth Wines and local craft beers.

We are looking to build a new Front of House dream team for this exciting venture as well as fill a few positions in our Cromwell Restaurant.

Each Position is full time with a guaranteed 30 Hours per week. More hours are available during our busy catering season of October to April. The maximum hours of work will be 50 hours per week.

Rates of pay will be between $23.00-$30.00 per hour depending on level of experience and position offered.

3 x Duty Managers 

The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:

  • This role is to assists the Restaurant Manager
  • Organize and coordinate daily restaurant operations. 
  • Maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Develop and direct staff to follow procedures.
  • Supervise staff to ensure job tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
  • Schedule rostering needs of the business – Break times and finish times. 
  • Enforce adherence to Liquor License regulations and Health & Safety.

Minimum Experience of 1 year in a similar role is desired and a current General Managers certificate or the ability to apply for one.

5 x Food & Beverage Attendants 

The role is made up of many varying responsibilities including:

  • Setting and arranging tables for arriving customers.
  • Engage with customers by providing them with menus and talking about the unique aspects of barrel cooking and invite to view barrel cookers.
  • Taking food and beverage orders through Idealpos our POS system
  • Serving food and beverage orders as they become available.
  • Clearing and cleaning of tables and surrounding areas
  • Collecting accurate payments for sales and processing through the Eftpos and Idealpos
  • Serving alcohol to customers in accordance with NZ Liquor Laws
  • Maintain high levels of customer service

Our restaurant is open Monday – Sunday from 10am - 9pm and you will be rostered on a 7 day a week basis.

A full driver’s license is very advantageous in this region. You must be willing to work both in the busy restaurant kitchen and at off-site catering events in our region.
