We have an exciting and challenging leadership opportunity to join our Management team within the Assurance Directorate as Manager Plant, Wine and Organic Assurance.

The Manager Plant Wine & Organic Assurance leads a team responsible for plant and plant product, wine and organic export assurance and certification functions, and supporting market access for wine and organics. 

This is an opportunity to lead a group of motivated individuals to assure the integrity, safety, suitability and reputation of New Zealand's plan (including seed and forestry), wine and organic sectors to achieve their export and market access aspirations through the provision of a robust assurance frameworks.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, and an innovative and forward thinking approach. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with a variety of people, be results focused, and be able to work in a fast moving, agile environment.

The role encompasses business accountability for the systems electronic certification for wine and phytosanitary which support respective sectors.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

• Proven leadership and management skills
• Excellent relationship and communication management skills
• Proven analytical and systems thinking skills
• Knowledge of international agreements and standards for phytosanitary measures  
• Knowledge of the wine and organic export frameworks
• Knowledge of New Zealand regulatory environment
